BIOSKETCH
Dr De Gama is a product of UKZN, she has a Bachelor of Medical Science, Honours in Medical Science, Master of Medical Science (Cum Laude) and Doctor of Philosophy majoring in Anatomy. Her current area of research focuses on perspectives on body donation in the ethnic groups in the Black African population group. Body donation is an important source of cadaveric material utilized for medical education and anatomical research. Interestingly, there are few donated bodies received from the Black African population group. She is also investigating the religious and cultural perspectives influencing the decision to donate one’s body among other population groups. She is also actively involved in the academic activities of medical science, health science and medical students as well as supervision of Honours, Masters and Doctoral students. https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Brenda_De_Gama
